Greetings! Your visit to this site is welcomed and greatly appreciated! I sincerely hope that you will find some of the things that I'll be sharing with you, interesting and beneficial in your personal discernment of biblical scriptures through Christ. There are key scriptures that should not be taken lightly and it’s imperative that we take great care to avoid the deception of which the bible has pre-warned! Such as… “These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.” 1 John 2:26 NKJV
Deception: Just who is going to try to deceive us? Would that not be one, that is in a position of leadership, to teach or preach/pastor? And will they know, if they themselves are deceived? Of course not! No one knows when they’re deceived, for if they did, they would not be deceived! And think about this, we are all deceived, at some level, for if we were not, we would then be like God, all knowing! And I know that I am not all knowing, for I am still learning through personal discernment and will continue to learn, till the Lord takes me home. And the bible also teaches us, that deception is going to get worse and worse. So here it is about 2000 years after these New Testament scriptures was originally written, so the chances of our being deceived, is much greater today, than it was then. Accordingly, as it is written…
“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:13 NKJV
Divine Assurance: And our only assurance we have, of not being deceived, is the indwelling Spirit of God, the Spirit of all truth, which is provided through Christ Jesus. This is why this website is named, “Christ n us” because I focus on the promises and the divine relationship, anyone can have with God through Christ, which is the anointing of God, provided through Jesus Christ.
Consider this, deception is like cancer, in the fact that there is no way, without outside medical help, one can discover they have cancer. I see the same with deception, there is no way for us to know when we have been deceived until there is an outside source that can reveal the deception and that outside source comes from within, to those that have a repentant and obedient heart before God. For without obedient heart, there is not indwelling Holy Spirit! …
“And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:32 NKJV
Our Guarantee of Truth: Take comfort in knowing that the bible teaches that we do have a guarantee of not being deceived. Our guarantee to “all truth”, is revealed through the indwelling Holy Spirit of God. … “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into “all truth”; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13 NKJV
Our Guarantee of Salvation: “that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. [13] In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, [14] who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.Ephesians 1:12-14 NKJV
Trusting Christ: And how do we begin trusting in Christ? The first step is to set our self-centered nature aside with a repentant and obedient heart so we can have a receptive heart to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit of God. And it is through this anointing where all truth is revealed to those living in Christ. …
“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. [28] And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. [29] If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.”
1 John 2:27-29 NKJV
Definition of Christ: Let's consider the word Christ. Christ is the New Testament word for Messiah as used in the Old Testament. And the definition of the word Messiah, or Christ is: anointed. Therefore Christ is not the name of Jesus, as many preach but defines the anointing of God that is provided through His Son, Christ Jesus, the anointed of God. Take note that in the bible, the word Christ is sometimes used before the name of Jesus, sometimes it follows the name Jesus and sometimes it is used alone. And that usage is significant, because the word Christ and how it is used, has significance to the message in that scripture. Such as …“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?— unless indeed you are disqualified.”2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV
Anointing of Christ: The message of that verse is not that Jesus is in you, but that the anointing, “Christ” that is provide through Jesus, is in you, referring to the guarantee of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God. And that anointing is only realized through sincere personal discernment. We need to discern everything, so that Christ can give us the truth, in what we seek. Discernment is key towards one salvation. For it is through personal discernment, that the children of God, can hear the silent voice of God, in the thoughts provided to us from God, through Christ. Not our understanding, but the divine understanding, that is revealed through Christ! That is why the bible also teaches that those that are “undiscerning” are worthy death. In this next scripture, take notice how “undiscerning” is listed right there, in the middle of all the other wicked activities …“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; [29] being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, [30] backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, [31] undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; [32] who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”Romans 1:28-32 NKJV
That Prepared Place: Those that are undiscerning are indeed, denying the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, which is that “prepared place” which Jesus prepared through His horrific sacrifice and death, so we could be reconciled to God through Christ! “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. [10] For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. [11] And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”Romans 5:8-11 NKJV
Therefore, what a waste of that horrific sacrifice, to the individual, that does not care enough to discern what is right and truthful before God.
Judged by our Works: Now let’s begin with discerning some of the messages that Jesus left for us, for today. And I believe Jesus’ messages trumps all other messages, seeing how He is the Lord and Savior, to all of the true children of God. So let’s take to heart, how Jesus taught, that we will all, be judged, according to our works, on that great day of Judgment! …. “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice [29] and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.”John 5:28-29 NKJV
Difficult is the Way: Jesus also taught that the way to life eternal is difficult. So let’s give place for that, to discernment.… “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. [14] Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV
Important Questions: Some questions we may want to consider, just what is a few? And why is it difficult? And how do we “find it”? and lets add one more question, what is it that we need to overcome? …“He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” Revelation 21:7 NKJV
Significance of Denying Self: My personal discernment, begins with these words of Christ Jesus. …“Then He (Jesus) said to them all,“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. [24] For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. [25] For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?” Luke 9:23-25 NKJV
First Step Towards Salvation: So the first step to salvation in ones repentance is to deny their self-centered nature that all mankind inherited from Lucifer, through the disobedient work of Adam and the choices of Eve through the deceptive enticement of that Serpent. Consider the language we use and hear continually, I will do this or I will do that. That is the exact words of Lucifer that he had in his heart, that got him removed from the presence of God. Notice, he did not do anything to get removed out of the presence of God, it was his thoughts that got him divinely removed! And in addition, consider how we judge, being like God, just about everything. Like the waitress was really good or she’s not getting a tip from me today. Or judging others in all that they do! We do that in the flesh because of that inherited will and desire, to be like God, a was in the heart of Lucifer. Reason this, if Lucifer was not allowed in the presence of God with his self-centered will, why would anyone think that they can reside in the presence in God, remaining in their self-centered will? Look closely at the five I will’s of Lucifer, as recorded in scripture.
Lucifer's Independent Heart: Isaiah 14:12-14 NKJV “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! [13] For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; [14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’
Desire To Be Like God: Now look at the enticement that the Serpent put before Eve. The fruit was not the enticement but the rather the idea to be like God. For Eve looked at the fruit to see if it was eatable so she could be like God, in knowing good and evil! Check it out!
The Serpent Enticing Eve:….“For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” [6] So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Genesis 3:5-6 NKJV
The Origin of Self-Centeredness of Man: And because of the decisions of Adam and Eve, we all inherited that same self-centered mindset. And if you consider all the works of the flesh as listed in this next verse, every single act is a result of the desires of our selfish desires! Indeed
Works Of The Flesh: Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, [20] idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, [21] envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Evil THoughts, The Root Of All SIn: There is no sin that does not start with a thought, a self-centered thought! We are instructed in the bible to not sin. And that is impossible until we discipline and overcome our self-centered thoughts. The bible also teaches that he who sins does not know God.
The Children of God Do Not Sin:1 John 3:6-9 NKJV Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. [7] Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. [8] He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [9] Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Disciplining Our Thoughts: So going back to the question, just what is a few? And why is it difficult? And how do we “find it”? and what is it, that we need to overcome? It is my deepest conviction and discernment, that it is our self-centered nature that we need to overcome in our obedience to living in Christ. For in our discernment, the Lord will reveal and give us understanding, which provide the divine strength to discipline our thoughts and overcome our sinful nature through Christ, the anointing of God’s Holy Spirit. And the most difficult part is to say no to our selfish desires immediately!, and put those self-centered thoughts, out of our mind. And to “find it”, one has to seek the Lord in all sincerity, will a submissive heart, and receive the Holy Spirit of God that reveals all truth, in all things, to those that will submit to Him! For without obedience, there is no indwelling Holy Spirit. For just as it is written: … “And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”font> Acts 5:32 NKJV
Only Two Spirits: Consider this, when it come to Whom actually reveals truth, to the sincere at heart! There is only two resources, as to what we all believe, the Spirit of truth vs. the spirit of error. … “We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”1 John 4:6 NKJV
Truth Being Spoken by Man: Consider this, Jesus was identified as being the Messiah, and Son of God at His baptism …“And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”Matthew 3:14 NKJV
And then Jesus was later identified by the demons …. “And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?” Matthew 8:29 NKJV
Also Jesus was identified by the disciples in the boat … “Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” Matthew 14:33 NKJV
So we know that before Jesus asked His disciples who they said He was, Jesus had already been identified, so what can we learn in this? We can hear the truth and assume the truth, but it is God that reveals the truth, when you have that moment, when you know something, down deep in your heart, is of the truth. Notice that Jesus’ question was not, who did they “think” He was, but rather “who do you say”, I am. Listen and discern: … “He (Jesus) said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”[16] ,Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” [17] Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 16:15-17 NKJV
God Establishes Personal Truth: What we can learn from this recorded event, we can hear the truth and we can hear things that are not true, but false. How will we know the difference? This is why discerning is so important, for in discerning for truth, that is where we can hear the silent voice of God, as He directs our thoughts, in reasoning and recognizing the truth, in which we are seeking! If one had asked Peter, who revealed to you, that Jesus was the Christ of God, he may of said, the guys over at the pub, after work, the other day, mentioned it! Consider this, we have a very similar issue today, for the Jews idea of the “promised Messiah” was not that of a son of an apparent wayward woman, that her boyfriend, had mercy on her, and married her anyway! And today, in like manner, many taking claim to Christ, have a different idea of hearing from God, then the simplicity of God redirecting their thoughts to the purity of truth and righteousness. That is far too simple! But it is that simple! Listen to Jesus promise of directing, through Christ the words of God, being spoken through the disciples of Christ Jesus, and that continues to be applicable today, in the lives of those living in Christ! … But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; [20] for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Matthew 10:19-20 NKJV
Righteous Meditation: As mentioned earlier, our thoughts are either of the flesh or of the Spirit! Remember, there are only two spirits, our thoughts, in the flesh, being of that spirit of error vs. our thoughts through the Spirit of God, being of God, for it is the Spirit of God that directs the thoughts of the true children of God. The bible teaches us what to meditate on, and it is not the things of this world, but clean and righteous thoughts. ... Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 NKJV
Discernment to Understanding: And when we meditate on the thoughts as instructed, then God can direct our thoughts, for us to know and understand His will for us. … Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:17 NKJV
That is called, discerning, and the failure in not doing that, is worthy death, as mentioned earlier, in Romans 1: verse 31. For in ones, lack of discerning the things of GOd, they are wasting the opportunity that Christ Jesus provided through the sacrifice of His life, so that all, that have a repentant and obedient heart before God, in all things, could be reconciled to God. Undiscerning is not a little thing, not to the God and Father of His Son, Christ Jesus, Whom made that horriofic sacrifice, for you and me!
God directing our Thoughts: What we can learn from this recorded event, we can hear the truth and we can hear things that are not true, but false. How will we know the difference? Selfish Priorities over God: Make no mistake, the desire of the flesh is to be entertained! And that is indeed the will of Satan, for when we are watching TV, doing facebook, twitter and all the other divices and other events, games, etc., which devours our time, Keep in mind, those activities keeps our mind occupied, so there is no time to discern the deep things of God! Jesus spoke of those things in this way... Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. [23] But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it,(through discernment) who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew 13:22-23 NKJV
Righteous Disciplining of our Time: That is called, disciplining our time for righteous discernment, and the failure in not doing that, is worthy death, as mentioned earlier, in Romans 1: verse 31. Not discerning the things of God, is indeed, wasting the opportunity of that prepared place, that Jesus prepared by His death and horrific sacrifice, so that you and I, or anyone else, that has a submissive and obedient heart before God, could repent and be reconciled to God through Christ! Make no mistake! For on that great Day of Judgment, undiscerning for the righteousness of God, is not going to be a little thing, not to the God and Father of His Son, Christ Jesus, that sacrificed His life, giving opportunity to all, having a repentant heart, can be reconciled to God, in that divine relationship with Him through Christ! ... And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled [22] in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— [23] if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister. Colossians 1:21-23 NKJV
Receiving Spiritual Understand From The Lord: Anyway, basically this website is where I share what I feel the Lord has shown me though discernment. And if you have one of those “ah-ha” moments,in what I am sharing, just know it was not me that revealed that to you, but rather the Holy Spirit of God. I can only share what I believe, in the very depth of my heart, as being the truth, but the understanding to believing, and recognizing what I have written, as being truth or not, only God can reveal that to you! That is why, the apostle Paul wrote,: … Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. 2 Timothy 2:7 NKJV
