Our Divine Guarantee of Truth over Deception: 1 John 2:26. These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. 27. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 28. And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 29. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
The anointing of Christ in us is our guarantee against all attempts of deception. We must first go to God, in sincere prayer, trusting in His Spirit for our divine direction and understanding. As we grow in the knowledge of God, we can then better test the spirits and see if they are of God
When the apostle John wrote about that spirit of antichrist in the following verses, he was not writing about a being, but rather one's state of mind. In verse 3, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God., John was not referring to Jesus, in the days of His flesh. Common sence tells us that there are millions of people that believe Jesus did come in the flesh. Even our current year reflect the days of Jesus on earth. Clearly the apostle John we speaking of the Spiritual anointing of Christ in our flesh. We can clearly see that John was referring to ones dependency upon this anointing a little further in verse 4. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. This is our guarantee against all deception, Christ in us! The anointing of God in our flesh!
1 John 4:1. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,3. and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you Christ in us! In our flesh! is greater than he who is in the world.
